The Decision You Can't See Around

You Know AI Matters. The Hard Part Is Deciding Where It Belongs.

You don't need convincing that AI is real. You need to make good decisions about it before you spend time, money, team energy, or client trust on the wrong thing. And you're too close to your own business to see every opportunity, or every place AI could quietly do damage.

🧭

Building the Wrong Thing First

It's easy to automate the loudest task instead of the one that actually creates leverage. The wrong build costs more than the build itself — wasted weeks, a system no one trusts, and the nagging sense you moved fast in the wrong direction. The first question isn't "what can AI do?" It's "where AI actually fits?"

🗂️

Systems No One Actually Uses

Plenty of AI projects look impressive in a demo and then sit untouched. If a system doesn't fit how the work really happens, your team routes around it, and you're back where you started with a tool to maintain. The goal is never the impressive demo. It's something that works on a normal Tuesday.

🤝

Losing What Clients Trust You For

In a growing business, the relationship is the product. One AI-generated touchpoint that feels generic, off, or impersonal can erode something you spent years building. Some parts of the work should stay human, and knowing which parts those are matters more than any feature.

🪞

Sounding Like Everyone Else

Used carelessly, AI flattens what makes a business distinct — your voice, your judgment, the way you say things. Growth shouldn't cost you the thing that made the business worth growing. Good AI strategy protects what already works while it builds what's next.

None of this gets solved by another subscription. It gets solved by someone who understands your business deeply enough to recommend the right AI, and who'll tell you plainly when the answer is not yet, or that should stay human.

What Clients Actually Experience

When Founders Work With Jeanette, Three Things Tend to Happen

This isn't a list of features. It's what founders actually say after the work — the shift from "I'm not sure where AI belongs" to "I know exactly what to build, and I can run it myself."

1

They Get Clarity

From "Where Does AI Belong?" to a Plan

The fog lifts. Instead of chasing every tool, you know where AI actually fits, what to build first, and what to leave alone for now. The build follows the strategy, not the other way around. Founders leave knowing the few moves that create real leverage, and the ones that would just add noise.

2

It Still Sounds Like Them

Protect What Already Works

The systems support the business without flattening it. Your voice still sounds like your voice. The touchpoints that should stay personal stay personal. A common refrain from clients: "I can't believe it still sounds like me." That's the point. AI should strengthen the trust you've built, never replace it.

3

They Can Run It Themselves

Independence by Design

The most common thing founders say is some version of "I can actually do this." You leave with the keys, not a dependency. A good build makes you more capable, not less. Many choose to keep Jeanette in the room as the business grows, but that's a choice, never a leash.

I loved your last training, Jeanette. You broke things down into simple pieces, and it was especially helpful how you encouraged everyone to ask questions. I had a breakthrough moment because of that.

About Jeanette

The Advisor Who Starts With Your Business, Not the Tool.

Jeanette Stein is the founder of Stein Solutions, a boutique AI strategy and implementation firm for growing businesses. She helps owners and small leadership teams make better AI decisions, identify where AI actually fits, and create systems that support the business and the people running it.

Most AI consultants start with the tool. Jeanette starts with the business. Before she recommends anything, she works to understand how the business actually runs, how the founder works inside it, what clients trust it for, what should become easier, and what must stay human.

"AI is not the competitive advantage. Good judgment is. The businesses that win with AI won't be the ones using the most tools. They'll be the ones making the best decisions about where AI belongs."

That instinct for clarity comes from 17 years teaching middle school and ninth grade math in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Two decades of making hard things make sense taught her to explain plainly, to meet people where they are, and to build understanding that lasts, which is exactly why she refuses to leave clients dependent on her. She builds the systems and the strategy, then hands over the keys.

She is not a software vendor and not a tool reseller. She's an advisor who understands AI deeply and, just as importantly, understands business deeply enough to recommend the right AI. She's as willing to say "not yet" or "that should stay human" as she is to say "build this."

She works with growing, relationship-driven businesses, coaches, practitioners, small agencies, and mission-driven founders, based in Grand Rapids, Michigan and partnering with clients anywhere.

Who This Is Built For

Growing Businesses Where the Work Is Personal

Growing Small Teams

Best fit isn't about revenue or team size. It's founders who:

  • Know AI matters and want to make thoughtful decisions before investing in it
  • Don't want to build the wrong thing, or build something no one uses
  • Care about protecting their voice, their clients, and what makes the business work
  • Want a partner who'll say "not yet" or "that should stay human" when it's true

If that sounds like you, this work was built with you in mind.

Not Sure Where AI Belongs Yet?

Start with the AI Audit. It maps where AI can create real leverage in your business, where the human-side guardrails need to be, and the first few moves actually worth making. No pitch, no pressure.

From there, a strategy call is simple: we review what the audit surfaced, confirm the safest first build, and decide together whether we're a fit.

What Stein Solutions Is Not

Not a Software Vendor

There's no platform to subscribe to and no tool to resell. Stein Solutions is strategy and implementation built around your business, not another piece of technology to manage. And the work is designed to make you independent: you leave with the keys, able to run what gets built. If you stay, it's because you want the partnership, not because you're locked in.

Not "More AI Is Always Better"

Jeanette doesn't believe every business should use AI the same way, or that more AI is the goal. There's no hype, no pressure to automate everything, and no assumption that what works for a tech startup fits your business. Sometimes the smartest AI decision is deciding not to build. Every recommendation is specific to you, your clients, and your standards.

"The build follows the strategy. Not the other way around."

That line is at the center of everything Stein Solutions does. AI is a powerful tool, but the founders who use it best are the ones who decide where it belongs in their business before they build, and where it doesn't belong at all.

Jeanette's work is to help you find that line, together, and then build the systems that fit. With the clarity and practical focus of someone who spent 17 years making hard things make sense, and the discernment to protect what already makes your business work.

Build what matters. Protect what works. Use AI where it creates real leverage.

How It Works

Three Steps to Get Started

1

Take the AI Audit to
see where AI fits

2

A strategy call to confirm
the safest first build

3

Build the right systems,
keep the keys

Common Questions

You Might Be Wondering…

It starts with understanding your business, not pitching a tool. Most founders begin with the AI Audit, which maps where AI can create real leverage, where the human-side guardrails belong, and the first few moves worth making. From there, a strategy call confirms the safest first build and whether we're a fit. The flagship engagement is a 12-week strategy and systems build: we decide where AI actually fits, build the right systems, and make sure you can run them.
No. Jeanette taught math for 17 years, so explaining hard things in plain language is the whole skill. You won't be buried in jargon or handed a system you don't understand. Part of the work is making sure you can actually run what gets built. If you can run your business, you can run this.
Most consultants start with the tool: what do you want to automate, what app, what prompt. Jeanette starts with the business: what's actually happening here, where is the work getting heavy, what do clients trust you for, what should never be automated, what would create the most leverage. The differentiator isn't AI knowledge alone. It's understanding your business deeply enough to recommend the right AI, and being honest about what to build first and what should wait.
That's exactly the right thing to worry about, and protecting it is part of the work. In a growing business, your voice and the trust you've built are the product. AI should strengthen those, never flatten them. Some touchpoints should stay human, and Jeanette will help you draw that line clearly. A common thing clients say afterward: "I can't believe it still sounds like me."
Yes. She's based in Grand Rapids, Michigan and partners with growing businesses anywhere. The work happens through focused virtual sessions that are every bit as hands-on as in-person.
Then that's the answer, and it's a valuable one. Jeanette is as willing to say "not yet," "fix the process first," or "that should stay human" as she is to say "build this." Sometimes the smartest AI decision is deciding not to build. A wrong build can cost far more than the build itself, so naming what isn't worth doing is part of the value.
No, and that's by design. The work is built so you leave with the keys and can run what we create. Independence by design, partnership by choice. Many founders do choose to keep Jeanette in the room as the business grows, deciding what to build next, but that's because the partnership is valuable, never because they're locked in.
The Simple Version

Before you build with AI, know where AI actually fits.

If you know AI matters but want to make thoughtful decisions before you invest, this is the right place to start. Book a strategy call to talk through where AI fits in your business, what to build first, and what should stay human. No pitch, no pressure.
