How to Get Your Manus API Key

Before you start

Manus is a newer platform, so their interface and API location may change over time. If something looks different from these steps, check their documentation or help center for the latest instructions. Plan on about 5 minutes.

Step 1, Get access to Manus

Open Manus →

1. Click Get Started or Sign Up.
2. Create your account with email or Google sign-in.
3. Complete email verification if prompted.

Manus may use a waitlist or invite system for new users. If you see a waitlist, join it. Invites are typically sent within a few days. Check your email, including spam, for an access confirmation.

Step 2, Open developer settings

1. Once you have account access, log in to your Manus dashboard.
2. Look for Settings, Developer, or API in the navigation menu.
3. Navigate to the API or developer section.

Step 3, Add billing if required

1. Check if Manus requires a payment method for API access.
2. If so, navigate to Billing and add your credit card.
3. Add credits or select a plan that includes API access.

Manus may offer free API credits for new users or include API access in certain subscription tiers. Check the pricing page for current details.

Step 4, Generate your API key

1. In the developer or API section, click Create API Key or Generate Key.
2. Give your key a descriptive name like "Workshop Key".
3. Click Create to generate it.
4. Your API key will be displayed.

Important. Copy your API key immediately and save it somewhere safe. Most platforms only show the key once. If you lose it, you'll need to generate a new one.

Step 5, Store your key safely

Good places to save your API key:

• Password manager like 1Password, Bitwarden, or LastPass
• Secure note on your computer
• Environment variable on your system, for developers

Never share your API key publicly, commit it to code repositories, or paste it into untrusted websites. Anyone with your key can use your account and run up charges.

Verify it worked

To confirm your key is live, paste it into any tool that accepts a Manus API key, or test it through the Manus platform's built-in playground or documentation. Check Manus's API docs for the correct base URL and available model names, since these may differ from other AI platforms you've used.
