How to Get Your ThriveCart API Key

Before you start

You need an active ThriveCart account. ThriveCart does not have a free plan. If you don't have one yet, this guide can wait until you do.

API access is included on the Standard plan. Pro+ unlocks a few extra endpoints (advanced webhooks, affiliate API) but the personal API key flow is the same on both.

1. Open your account settings

ThriveCart's dashboard URL is unique to your account, so there's no single direct link. Log in, then:

1. Click your account avatar in the top-right
2. Click Settings
3. In the left sidebar, click API & webhooks
4. Click View settings on the API tokens row

You should now see a list of any existing tokens, with a Create API key button.

2. Create the key

1. Click Create API key
2. Give it a name that describes what it's for, like Zapier or Wave sync, so you can revoke it later without breaking other integrations
3. ThriveCart shows the key once, in a popup
4. Copy it immediately before clicking anywhere else

One-shot warning. The full key only appears at the moment of creation. If you close the popup without copying, the dashboard will only show the name afterward, not the secret. If that happens, delete the key and make a new one. It takes 30 seconds.

3. Where it goes next

Paste the key into whatever tool is connecting to ThriveCart, like Zapier or a custom Claude Code worker. Most tools will show "Connected" or "Authenticated" once the key is recognized.

API token vs webhook secret. ThriveCart has two different things that both sound like passwords. The API token is what you just created. Webhook secrets are set per product and are separate. If a tool asks for a webhook secret, do not paste the API token there, and the other way around.
